Alectra show there was a significant reduction in power consumed between 830pm and 930pm on Saturday (mar 25) evening.

OPP have released their annual Distracted Driving Campaign numbers .... and there not good.
Detachments across the province, including Nottawasaga OPP, say more than 2,400 distraction related charges were laid in Ontario over March Break.

HIKE FOR HOSPICE

The 14th annual Mathews House Hike for Hospice is approaching.
The event, which raises funds and awareness of hospice palliative care, takes place on May 7th at the Adjala-Tosorontio Municipal Park and hiking trails.
There is a 2km and 5km option.

An arrest has been made in break-ins at healthcare facilities in Alliston
Nottawasaga OPP say the man broke into Stevenson Memorial Hospital and the Good Samaritan Nursing Home back in late February.

South Simcoe Police say they caught a speeder on Canal Road Thursday (mar 23) morning doing 124 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
A 40 year old Bradford man has beemn charged with stunt driving and speeding.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for this morning.
Freezing rain is expected to taper off near mid morning.
They say, as always, highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

The Simcoe-Grey MP and Conservative leadership candidate was not pleased with the $28.5 billion deficit forecast by the Trudeau government with no time frame for bringing it to balance.

POCKET DIALING A PAIN TO POLICE

South Simcoe Police is once again asking the public to secure your cellphones.
They say this week alone they have received 4 false 9-1-1 calls.
The dialing errors, or "pocket dials", occur if people have 9-1-1 on speed dial or when a child is allowed to play with a phone.
