PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS CLOSURE OF SEED PLANT IN ANGUS

A public meeting about the scheduled closure of the Ontario Tree Seed Plant in Angus will be held tonight.


The facility, which has been in operation since 1923, is set to close in September of next year.


The operation collects seeds from about 50 different native species and supplies seeds to smaller nurseries and large forestry companies and provides seed for reforestation.


The meeting goes at 7pm Wednesday (oct 11) at Utopia Hall


Ken Durst, Regional Service Manager with the Ministry of Natural Resources will speak at the event
