FREEZING RAIN WARNING
4/13/2018 12:43:54 PM

Environment Canada has upgraded it's special weather statement to a Freezing Rain Warning.

They say significant ice build-up due to freezing rain and an ice storm likely this weekend.

The weather office says freezing rain may start overnight and will likely last into Saturday (apr 14) evening.

It will then likely turn into ice pellets with the freezing rain coming back and lasting into Sunday.

Ice build up of 10 to 20 mm appears quite likely by Sunday morning and that combined with 60 km/h winds may result in power outages and dangerous winter driving conditions.

Flooding may also occur some low lying areas by Sunday evening.

Rain is expected to taper off later Monday.
